Introduction

Definition of Transhumanism:

Transhumanism is a philosophical and intellectual movement that advocates the enhancement of the human condition by developing and making widely available new and future technologies that can greatly enhance longevity, cognition, and well-being.

Transhumanist ideas are becoming more mainstream. Every day, we are aiming to transhumanist ideas like optimizing our sleep, fitness, nutrition and considering brain implants and bionic arms. We want to become the best version of ourselves. We started wearing smartwatches and other devices with sensors to optimize every part of our life. There are even headbands to monitor and guide us to meditate with sounds while reading our brain waves.

I say this is due to the new social currency, health. It is not just beauty and clothing, is to look and prove your health. People wanted to use makeup and not be fat. Then, people started to improve their skin appearance; now they see how to make it even better and more glassy, improve posture, see which foods improve their mental and physical health to look better and more confident. To get the looks, you need health first. It is the new currency 100%.

What Do I Do and Why?

Disclaimer about self-experimentation: These are personal experiments, not medical advice. Always consult a professional before trying new supplements or protocols.

I have been juggling with different habits and products I discovered by doing some research during my free time. These are the things I tried already that are not expensive at all:

Supplements

Technology

Lifestyle

Some of them were applied by using technology and others not. The most interesting ones are related to genetics as gen are the source code of humans. You can edit your genes to improve or edit some traits of your whole body and behavior; but that is something that I am not going to do yet due to economic and legal (duh) factors.

I would like to start also with sight. Our eyes age as well and our vision worsens with age so maybe considering some vision protection habits and tools would be the first step.

How would it evolve?

Bioregulation and Mind Control

The more we discover and innovate with new technology, the more useful it is for our bodies as well. We may see more invisible and tiny gadgets that improve and enhance our abilities. Some companies, like Neuralink, already achieved brain implants for people with disabilities. It is pretty likely that this implant will be available also for people without disabilities but to enhance them. Let’s imagine an implant that reads our brain signals and processes them and generates impulses so our brain can change its behavior; if we feel angry, that can be read, and it can regulate our feelings to not feel angry anymore. It would act as a bioregulator for humans to promote better wellbeing and life experience in general.

Bionics That Outperform Biology

Also, next generation bionics could be even better than organics. We could see people even getting rid of their arms just to have high-tech ones with more features like better grip, strength, and data storage and ID like the Personal Link in Cyberpunk 2077.

Genetic Mastery

I personally feel more curious about bioengineering and genetics to enhance ourselves biologically like reverse aging, and then use external tools, but researching and working with both seems the best approach. CRISPR-Cas9 may be the next tool that will make humans evolve tremendously. We would modify our genes to remove all unwanted data from our genome and make it even better.

Conclusion

Transhumanism isn’t about becoming machines — it’s about unlocking our full potential, thoughtfully.
